Licensing

Quoted for your network.
Not picked off a list.

A gateway carrying a regional PPPoE base is a different system from a wholesale carrier running redundant pairs with per-flow compliance logging. A price list would over-charge one of them. We size against the deployment you are actually building and send a written quote.

01 Licence model

Two decisions, and neither of them is which features you get

Your licence is sized on one capacity measure and bought on one commercial term. Everything the gateway does is included either way.

Decision one

What the licence is sized on

Whichever measure matches how your network actually grows. An access network adding subscribers is naturally session-shaped; a transit or wholesale position is naturally throughput-shaped.

Concurrent sessions
subscriber-led growth
Throughput
traffic-led growth

We will tell you which one fits your network in the sizing conversation, and quote that one.

Decision two

How you buy it

A capital purchase or an operating cost, depending on how your business books infrastructure. The software is identical.

Perpetual
own the licence
Subscription
term-based

Both are quoted per deployment. Ask for either, or ask for both and compare them side by side.

02 What shapes a quote

Five inputs, and we can size the same day

Bring approximate figures. Nobody expects exact busy-hour numbers before an evaluation, and a range is enough to produce a quote you can budget against.

  1. 01

    Capacity

Peak concurrent sessions, or busy-hour throughput — whichever your licence will be sized on.

  2. 02

    Services in scope

Everything is included, but carrier NAT and per-flow compliance logging change the hardware you need.

  3. 03

    Redundancy

A single gateway, or an active/standby pair with session and translation state replication.

  4. 04

    Term

Perpetual or subscription, and the support window your operation needs.

  5. 05

    Involvement

Whether you want us present for bring-up and migration, or only on the support line.

03 How it works

From first call to written quote

You evaluate before you commit, on your own hardware, against your own RADIUS. The quote comes after that, not before it.

01

Technical session

Thirty minutes with a network engineer covering your access model, addressing and policy requirements.

02

Sizing

We propose a hardware profile and a licence size for your subscriber count and service mix.

03

Evaluation

Run it on your own hardware beside your existing gateway, on a VLAN range you choose.

04

Written quote

A quote by email for the deployment you validated, perpetual or subscription, with bring-up support and a migration plan.

Licence delivery

Licences are cryptographically signed and bound to the host, with a local cache and grace period so a licensing outage never affects forwarding.

Offline activation

Air-gapped and management-isolated deployments can be activated without the gateway reaching the internet.

Hardware stays yours

We give you a sizing profile; you buy servers from whoever you already buy servers from. Your cold spare is a purchase order, not an RMA queue.

04 Before you ask

Questions we get every time

If yours is not here, ask an engineer directly rather than a sales inbox.

Because a number without your deployment attached to it would be misleading. A regional operator running PPPoE without carrier NAT and a wholesale carrier running redundant pairs with per-flow compliance logging are different systems. Quoting either from a table would mean over-charging one of them.

One or the other, whichever matches how your network grows. A subscriber-led access network is usually sized on concurrent sessions; a traffic-led position is usually sized on throughput. We will tell you which one we think fits during sizing, and you are welcome to ask for the other.

It is a finance question rather than a technical one; the software is identical. Perpetual suits operators who capitalise infrastructure and expect the gateway to run for many years. Subscription suits operators who would rather carry it as an operating cost. Ask for both and compare them.

No. There are no per-feature unlocks and no premium modules. Every service listed on the product page is in the gateway at every licence size. What changes with scale is the capacity your licence covers and the hardware you run it on.

No. Netvyn is software on standard server hardware. We give you a sizing profile and you buy it from your existing supplier.

Yes, and we would rather you did. Run it on your own hardware against your own RADIUS, on a VLAN range beside your existing gateway. The documentation is public, so your engineers can start reading before any commercial conversation happens.

Send your subscriber count or busy-hour traffic, the services you need and whether you want perpetual or subscription. We come back with a hardware profile and a written quote.
